► Who is Ellie Goulding?

Elena Jane Goulding, popularly known as Ellie Goulding, is a singer and songwriter from England. She was born on December 30, 1986. Her professional life began when she was introduced to the record producers Starsmith and Frankmusik. Subsequently, Jamie Lillywhite, who would eventually serve as both her manager and A&R, discovered her talent. After signing a record deal with Polydor Records in July 2009, Goulding released her first extended play, An Introduction to Ellie Goulding, in the fall of the same year.

Ellie grew up in Kington, Herefordshire. She went to Lady Hawkins’ High School to get her education. Ellie was born in the English town of Hereford. After getting her diploma from Hereford Sixth Form College, she went to Kent University to study acting. However, she was told to take a year off from school instead of continuing her education so she could start a career in music. Folk music made Ellie start writing her own songs when she was a teenager, and she taught herself how to play the guitar. During her time in school, she learned to like electronic music. On the song “Wish I Stayed,” Frankmusik helped Ellie Goulding develop her sound, and Starsmith, who produced her first album, Lights, has worked with Ellie Goulding many times.

She signed a recording contract with Polydor Records in September of 2009, but her debut single, titled “Under the Sheets,” was issued by the independent label Neon Gold Records. This was done so that there would not be an excessive amount of pressure placed on Goulding to perform well in terms of sales. After making its debut on BBC Radio 1 at the tail end of September 2009, the song “Under the Sheets” went on to acquire a significant amount of radio exposure in the form of heavy rotation. The month after that, she was a support act for Little Boots. She also performed “Under the Sheets” and “Guns and Horses” on the show Later with Jools Holland, in which she also appeared. Her song “Wish I Stayed,” which she recorded in cooperation with Frankmusik, was selected as the Single of the Week on iTunes in December 2009.

After that, she went on to provide vocals to Star smith’s remix of ‘Sleepyhead,’ which was originally performed by Passion Pit. She was also the recipient of the Critics’ Choice Award at the BRIT Awards, which she won shortly after the results of the BBC Sound of 2010 vote were made public. Before Goulding, the singer Adele was the most recent individual to be victorious in both categories. Her first studio album was titled “Lights,” and it was released in March 2010. The second single to be released from the album was titled “Starry Eyed,” and it was quite successful in terms of airplay, which was a contributing factor in the album reaching number one on the albums list in the UK. “Guns and Horses” was the title of the third single that was taken from the album and released to the public. She has also written a number of tunes for Diana Vickers, and she has co-authored a single with Gabriella Cilmi for her own album. She has also contributed to the writing of a number of tracks for Diana Vickers. It was revealed that She would be John Mayer’s opening act on his tour in the United Kingdom in 2010.
